2) Why do I have to pay programme fee?
This is the question arise when you are going
for volunteer work but There are certain things
that volunteer need to pay for , Like : food and
accommodation during the volunteering ,
administration cost, language training ,
finding placement and communication cost.
3) When do I have to apply for the programme?
Basically volunteers need to apply 2 month
before of their starting date but in few
programmes like: Village stay and cultural
exchange volunteers may apply a month before of
their starting date.
4) Who can apply for the programme?
Volunteer need to be above 18 years with good health.
People who those have English as a first
language (
UK, Ireland, USA, Australia and Canada, New Zealand
)We also accept volunteer form other country
mention above but they must have good command in
English or volunteers can take part in Cultural
exchange and village stay programme if they have
English language problem.
5) What is the selection process?
Step-1
Volunteers need to fill up the online
application form.
Step -2
If you are eligible you will get the acceptance
e-mail form VEEP Nepal.
Step-3
Volunteers need to send the confirmation e-mail
including their Starting date of the programme.
Step-4 (final stage)
Volunteers need to send flight details, after
getting the flight details your seat in
programme will be reserved.
6)
When should I arrive in Nepal?
The training begins on the 1st and 15th of each
month so it would be good if you could arrive at
least one day before one of these dates. You are
welcome if you would you like to arrive few days
before your program starts

representative takes you the Hotel. And your
accommodation can be arrange if you arrive
earlier but for that you need to pay your
expenses any time if you are in non VEEP
activities.

7)
Does anyone form VEEP come to the airport to
pick up volunteers?
Yes, our staff / representative will meet with
you outside the airport to pick up you. He/she
will be holding a place card with your name on
it. He/She will take you to the guest house.
PS: Don't forget
to send the flight details that we can pick you
on the time that you arriving in Kathmandu.
8) What types training will I receive?
VEPP Nepal will provide you Nepali Language
training, cultural, ART (appropriate Rural
Technology) like: solar dryer, Pit latrines,

9) Where will I have to stay during the training
period?
During the first phase,
you will receive training in Kathmandu.
For the second phase,
you will move to Godavari or Dakshinkali
(Villages near by kathmandu city center)
village. You will be staying with Nepali family
during the second phase training.
11) How can I ensure my place in your program?
After getting your flight details your place
will be ensure in our programme. We will send
you an-email. Which makes you sure that your
place is reserved.
12) Who choose my Host family?
VEEP Nepal chooses the host family. According to
your e-mails responds we will try to find
appropriate host family for you.
13) Does VEEP Nepal Provides any financial
support?
Unfortunately, we are in not that position,
however if past volunteer joins our program we
will deduct some amount on fees.
14) How much money do I need?
It’s hard to give an exact amount. It is
difficult to give exact amount of money it
depends on things like how much time you spend
on trekking and traveling ,Drinking (Beer).how
often you use the telephone and internet.
Living in the
village is very cheap compares to cities areas
you will not have to pay for your food or
accommodation and there is little for you to
spend your money on. In Kathmandu a night stay
costs around Rs.250, an evening meal between Rs.
200-300, internet is around Rs40 an hour, for
laundry its costs around Rs250 for a medium
sized load, they charge by the items.
Transportation is relatively in expensive too.
We recommend purchase the
Lonely Planet's guide to Nepal. One
the travels guide for Nepal to help you estimate
how much money you may need.
Remember that
you need money for your visa and your flight
ticket as well.

English prior my arrival in Nepal?
It would be helpful for you to brush up on your
grammatical knowledge. You could also bring a
grammar book and English language text book
which is helpful for you during the placement
time, as they are difficult to find in Nepal.
17) Is there age limit on programme?
You must have to above 18 and have good health.

Is it safe to do volunteer in Nepal?
Yes, Nepal is quite safer for volunteer work.
However we worked hard ensure that your place is
safer and far form the other unsafe activities
you may have heard about the Maoist activities
but don’t worry they are in Now main political

19) What kind immunizations/vaccines do I need
before coming Nepal?

20) Do I need travel and Medical insurance?
Yes, we strongly recommended that you must have
travel and medical or health insurance. VEEP
doesn’t provide any Medical and Travel
insurance. In our past experience it shows that
volunteer have to purchase medical and other
Insurance for their financial safety.
21) Does VEEP Nepal pay for my rafting and
trekking?
No, this is non VEEP activity so you need to pay
yourself for this. Volunteers need to spend
their own money if they involve in Non- VEEP
activities. We can give you rafting and trekking
agencies contacts. You will get special
discounts rates.
At the end of
the placement VEEP Nepal will provide a
certificate of TEFL( for teaching Programme) and
a reference letter for your contribution
towards Nepali community. |
