Reason behind the establishing VEEP Nepal.
Before running VEEP Nepal, we all member met in a volunteering programme. We worked as volunteer in international based charity with international volunteers. We worked together in different rural parts of Nepal. After working in different rural parts of Nepal we found that Volunteering is very essential for the Nepali community. its us vert rewarding work.We have traveled so many places of Nepal while working in different field; we found that volunteer could make so many changes in the Nepali’s community. Working in different rural villages, we have learned so many practical things that we wont be able to learn in urban area. That given us more confident and makes us to feel the reality of Nepal. Living in remote area without having even basic need of human being is very difficult as well as challenging even for us.
After finishing our volunteer work we Nepali friends were in dilemma, weather we should continue our Development work or jump up to a new job. But finally we all decided to continue our volunteer work, as we were experienced earlier and we also make a plan to run a volunteer organization to continue our previous work, before starting VEEP Nepal we gathered the available information about the existing agencies of Nepal as well as their current position. for that we did research ,We reached to the government offices/ private NGOs/ CBOs and did the internet searching and gather all the information about the currently working volunteer organization ( Nepal based/ overseas based) that operates volunteering programme in Nepal and we found there are so many organizations that operates volunteering programme in Nepal and another common thing that we found that is the programme cost. We all get amazed to see the fees they are charging to volunteers. Programme cost was very expensive which a normal people can’t afford it. Basically they don’t need that much amount of money for the volunteer work. After spending 2 month on that research we decided that we will be opening the Agency with low programme cost. About 80% of their programme fees spend on their administration cost and only 20% money goes to the volunteers support.
To provide equal opportunity, to those volunteer who has got enthusiasm to work in rural community of Nepal but cant afford due to the high programme cost. We decide to open a volunteer organization with low cost with the spirit of volunteerism. This is how we Established VEEP Nepal in 2002.
Since then VEEP Nepal and its team is dedicated to deliver high quality volunteering service

At the end of my one month teaching the principle told me he was proud of me as I had taught his students something new. However, little did. I know that I was the one being taught. Immersed in a completely alien culture and classroom, it is amazing what one can learn, not only about their surroundings but also about themselves and their homes.
