How are you? I hope all is well in Nepal.

We are all home now and settled back into college life. Everything seems so dull now though after 6 weeks of such adventure!! It's nice to be home though and see everyone, but i miss Nepal so much!
I cant stop looking at my watch and trying to figure out what time it is there and guess what everyone is doing!

I'm sorry that i didn't get to say a proper goodbye to you. I hope you enjoyed the night out on Friday as much as I did. It was so much fun. I really hope to get back out to Nepal again as soon as possible. Maybe the next year or two.

Thank you so much for helping me have the trip of a lifetime. I had such an amazing time in Nepal. It wouldn't have been the same without you. Thank you so much!!

Keep in touch...

Reason behind the establishing VEEP Nepal.  /Why VEEP Nepal?

Before starting  VEEP Nepal, we all member met in a volunteering programme. We worked as volunteer in international based charity . We worked together in different rural parts of Nepal. After working in different rural parts of Nepal, we found that Volunteers are  very essential for the Nepali community. We have traveled so many places around Nepal while working in different field; we found that volunteer could make so many changes in the Nepali’s community. Working in different rural villages, we have learned so many practical things while working as volunteer which we won't be able to learn in urban area. That given us more confident and makes us to feel the reality of Nepal. Living in remote area without having even basic need of human ( water, food and electricity )being is very difficult as well as challenging  us.

After finishing our volunteer work we Nepali friends were in dilemma, weather we should continue our Development work or jump up to a new job. But finally we all decided to continue our volunteer work, as we were experienced earlier and we also make a plan to run a volunteer organization to continue our previous work, before starting a charity we gathered the available information about the existing charity of Nepal as well as their current position. for that we started research programme. We reached to the government offices/ private NGOs/ CBOs and did the internet searching and gather all the information about the currently working volunteer organization ( Nepal based/ overseas based) that operates volunteer programme Nepal and we found so many organizations that operates volunteer programme in Nepal and another common thing that we found that is the  programme cost. We all got amazed from the fees that are charging to the volunteers. Programme cost was very high which a normal people can’t afford it.   After spending 2 month on that research we decided that we are going to  open a charity with low programme cost. with low programme fees. Basically other volunteer organization charging a lot more than they need for the volunteer work. during our research we found that  About 80% of their programme fees spend on their administration cost and only 20% money goes to the volunteers support.

To provide equal opportunity, to those volunteer who has got enthusiasm to work in rural community of Nepal but cant afford due to the high programme cost. We decide to open a volunteer organization with low cost with the spirit of volunteerism. This is how we Established VEEP Nepal in 2002.
